Much Ado About Nothing

February 19, 2006 | |

Just caught Michelle Malkin’s column on TownHall. Malkin says the American media are clowns for the way they are handling the Cheney hunting accident. I couldn’t agree more. Have any of them heard that a company from Dubai may soon be in charge of several major American ports? The main stream media has done very little with this story, which has been around for a couple of weeks. Instead, they’ve been hounding VP Cheney because he didn’t report his hunting accident to them immediately. Want to hound the Bush White House about something? How about security issues? Our Swiss cheese borders allow illegals by the thousands over every day. We’re giving the OK to this dubious Dubai deal. And the MSM can do nothing but get into a huff because a local newspaper was alerted to Cheney’s shooting of a hunting companion before they were. If they were reporters instead of clerks, they might be able to find out something of interest. Instead, they pull down their huge salaries and sit by the phone waiting for someone to call them.

David Henderson has some interesting thoughts on this at his blog: Making News.
