The latest Cone Survey shows that consumers care about business’ charitable activities, their practices and how they treat employees. I have contended for years that consumers will vote with their wallets based upon their perceptions of a company. I still won’t buy Exxon gasoline because of the way the company mishandled the 1989 crash of the Exxon Valdese oil tanker.
